MATT ROWE'S 24' PUTT ON 2ND PLAYOFF HOLE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP FOR HIS TEAM
2007 Chip and Putt Results; Teams

On August 31st, the 2nd Annual PW Chip and Putt Golf Tournament took place at Woody's Golf Center.
Pete Hackenbrack and Matt Rowe (along with new teammate, Alex Spielman) were not to be
denied again (they had lost the 2006 tournament in sudden-death overtime), as they survived
a four-team playoff (all finished 36 holes at -11) to capture the 2007 title.  At the end of the
36-hole tournament, the team of Vinny Greco, Shane Dolan, and Jason Rosenbaum led all six teams
with a (-12) score.  Upon further review and numerous sightings by the other teams, Dolan's OB drive
on Woody's 3rd-hole was recorded on their official scorecard as a par-3, thus disqualifying their
team from competition. The first hole of sudden death saw Trevor Urban sank a 10-foot birdie putt
and Pete Hackenbrack drilled a four-footer to send both their teams to the second playoff hole.
That set up the exciting finish for junior Matt Rowe, who calmly sank a 24' putt from off the ninth
green, to give them the 2007 championship.  All three members won Domino's pizza
coupons and a Regal Theater movie pass.  No hole-in-ones were recorded this year.

Meet The 2007 Colonials

On Friday, August 3, PWHS junior James Braunsberg captured the Montgomery County Junior
Open Golf Tournament
for the second consecutive year in a 3-man sudden-death playoff.

North Penn's, Souderton's and PW's #1 golfers all shot 74 at the hilly Brookline CC to force
a playoff starting on #1.  After all three hit monstrous drives, James hit a 95 yard pitching
wedge that took one bounce, hit the pin and stopped 3 feet from the hole.
Both opponents missed their birdie opportunities and then James calmly sank his to win.

Also competing in the event were Michael Witten (90-but a strong back 9),
Pete Hackenbrack (85), Shane Dolan (83) and Trevor "Back Nine" Urban (78).

PWHS grad, John Salamone, made his first hole-in-one on the 14th hole at Raven's Claw
during play at the 2007 Montgomery County Amateur Open last Saturday. John's hole-in-one
came on the "Cathedral", the par-3 147 yard 14th hole. Former PWHS golfer Jeff Stanford
had just missed holing out his shot on the fly as his shot landed 2" from the
cup and spun backwards 8 feet, prior to John making his ace.
